Thank you for visiting the Lawler Family website!
Here you will find company in all things profound and profane, silly and severe, calm and delirious–a perfect representation of our lives as Lawlers, lives that were touched by cancer TWICE, nearly simultaneously. First with our mother, Mary, diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme Brain Cancer in August 2007 and, second, with our brother, Craig, diagnosed with Metastatic Chromophobe Renal Cell Carcinoma in early March 2008.
In memoriam: Gone too soon
Sadly, our mom’s 11 month battle with GBM brain cancer ended June 25, 2008. She passed away peacefully with music playing, and in the arms of her family. On September 26, 2008–3 months and one day after our mom passed away–Craig lost his 7 month battle with metastatic kidney cancer. He, like our mom, passed away peacefully with music playing, and in the arms of his family.
They are loved and missed with every passing moment.
The journey continues
We continue to write; we continue to grieve. And, in that grief, we find renewed determination to keep their memory alive and their battles with cancer present, so that we may one day influence cancer care and research. We once proclaimed, “Seek the odds and you’ll find the Lawlers–smiling, sarcastic, steadfast, ready to take them on!” That determination continues despite losing both Mom and Craig. With their stories, we can make a difference and impact the future of kidney and brain cancer research.
It takes a community to fight cancer. Join us as we remember the past, celebrate the present, and fight for the future!
